Switzerland 2015

Traveling about and experiencing the world always seemed like a dream to me. Being a part of a family of travelers, I always counted myself as “home base”. A place where everyone could come on holiday and rest and visit. I liked being the home base and enjoyed the idea of settling in one place and putting down roots. However, recently, that idea just took and drastic turn. After a brief trip abroad to visit family, I saw the opportunity to live abroad, but still wasn’t sure it was an option for me. But, with the support of an amazing husband and two adventurous boys, we decided to take a leap.

It all started with the opportunity to study abroad. It would allow me to pursue a Masters Program being offered in Leysin, Switzerland, nestled in the beautiful Swiss Alps. So, I left my three men behind and headed to study International Education Leadership.

Words simply cannot express the beauty I encountered in Switzerland. Being from Florida, I’ve always been a “Beach Girl”. But, I’m pretty sure the Alps have converted me to a mountain lover. Each morning I was greeted with breathtaking scenery and fresh aromas. Every where you walk looks like a postcard.

While the majority of my time was in a classroom, I tried to take in as much as I could. I’m new at this whole traveling bit, next time I will definitely plan better. But, inexperience aside, traveling for any reason is certainly my cup of tea!
